MEET DAVID
A LEADER FOR EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH
David Tatman is a dedicated Christian, husband, father, businessman, volunteer, and public servant committed to the prosperity of Baton Rouge.
Growing up in South Louisiana, David graduated from Nicholls State University with a degree in Business. During his time there, he was actively involved in the NSU Student Senate and served as a Chapter Officer of his fraternity.
In 1997, David founded the Tatman Group, which has since become one of the state's leading Association Management and Governmental Relations firms. Through this role, he has served as Executive Director for prestigious organizations such as the Louisiana Film and Entertainment Association, Louisiana Fire Chiefs Association, Louisiana Gas Association, Louisiana Funeral Directors, and State Farm Agents and Associates, among others.
David's leadership and impact have been widely recognized. In 2001, he was honored in the Baton Rouge Business Report’s “Top 40 Under 40,” and in 2015, he was featured in the publication’s “People to Watch” section, which highlights successful business and public sector leaders.
His dedication to his community is evident through his involvement with the Republican State Central Committee and the Parish Executive Committee. His extensive volunteer work includes positions with the Boy Scouts of America, Children's Hospital, and coaching youth basketball. In 2011, David was elected to the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board, serving as President in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
His dedication to his community is evident through his involvement with the Republican State Central Committee and the Parish Executive Committee. His extensive volunteer work includes positions with the Boy Scouts of America, Children's Hospital, and coaching youth basketball. In 2011, David was elected to the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board, serving as President in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
Beyond his business and public service accomplishments, David has also ventured into the motion picture industry as an actor, filmmaker, and partner in OffScript Productions, a Louisiana-based film production company. OffScript Productions specializes in a variety of film and video production, including television ads, educational videos, and corporate videos.
Despite his many endeavors, David remains deeply grounded by his love for family and his commitment to public service. He is married to Maria Battaglia Tatman, a retired educator with 33 years of classroom experience. Together, they have three children: Carley Angela Tatman, Morgan Elizabeth Tatman, and David Mark Tatman, Jr. The Tatman family resides in Baton Rouge and are active members of the St. George Catholic Church Community.
